Under the pandemic, is the island lonely or contented?

The MIURA Project is a platform that gathers the painstaking work of a group of artists. The purpose is not only to increase their income but also to share the stories behind their artworks with the public.

The first art piece shared on MIURA Project is the “Island” from the science fiction animation “Dragon’s Delusion” series created by Hong Kong animation director and artist KongKee.

In KongKee eyes, the city lives like a living thing. Human freeze-like architecture.  “Island” records his imagination of the human body and the city becoming inextricably linked. Since KongKee is living in Hong Kong, there are already many isolated islands in the city. Therefore, it is indistinguishable from the human islands, driving KongKee to make this painting on a whim.

This work records KongKeei’s imagination after the body and the city become inseparable, using old printing colors are even more primitive. Whether the person in the picture feeling lonely ? or happy to be alone? Let’s left the imagination of the audience.
