Founder Terence Tong is fascinated by Japanese crafts and culture

Terence Tong is the founder of MIURA Project. After graduating with a double major in Queensland, Australia in 2012, he started working as a fashion buyer. Over the years, he has successfully introduced many brands from all over the world to Hong Kong. He has also brought many high-quality niche brands to the world. Therefore, it received the support of various media and artists.

Since Terence has been obsessed with pursuing the level of quality when he was a child. Thus, he is especially fascinated by Japanese traditional crafts and culture.

In 2018, Terence was invited to give a speech at the world’s first and only jeans university in the Netherlands. He showed the traditional Japanese clothing culture and craftsmanship to the students and professors. During the interview, he was also inspired by sustainable development and environmentally friendly clothing.

Until 2019, Terence happened to see an art painting by a full-time Hong Kong artist. Since he hopes to share it with more people, he has created the idea of printing the artist’s design on an Art Tee. Hence, MIURA Project has formed by combining the ideas of fashion, art, and environmental protection.
